About the Author
Máire Welford was born in Dublin. She spend several years in England before she returned to Dungarvan, Co. Waterford and finally she settled in Mallow, Co. Cork. A primary school teacher, she worked in Special Educations in both Dungarvan and Mallow. She has had many articles and short stories published over the years in various periodicals, most recently in The Evening Echo, Ireland’s Own and Woman’s Way.
Máire has written four books of children’s fiction. By Night and Day is her second book of short stories.
