Twenty-three years have rattled past, swift as the weaver’s shuttle, since the Alcove Writers formed. They were little more than acquaintances from their Newpark creative writing course when they came together, eager to keep up the momentum of the classroom. They wrote, read, critiqued and wrote some more; soon they were friends, and the friendship grew steadily.
The initial meeting place was suitably austere but before very long its mice, though friendly, were forsaken in favour of more wholesome, and licensed, premises. Over the years the pace of authorship moderated to a comfortable balance with the relaxations of sociability.
This anthology is a celebration of the friendship that has matured over the years together, sharing the love of words and the magic they weave.
