An insightful collection of thoughts and musings gleaned from a life of travel, observation and reflection. This mixture of philosophical reflections and descriptions of the wider world outside these shores, presented with a light comic touch, is sure to delight.
From the author’s description:
“Becoming present, with intention, is something we can all strive to do and to perfect as we make our way through life…Or we can choose otherwise! Two mortal enemies of my life are to live in fear of the future or to spend my time harking back to times past. Both deny me the power to truly be where I am right now.
This book is a collection of some of the thoughts I’ve accumulated during travels around the world. In hindsight, I almost regret not mentioning places like Seoul, where I first came across heated toilet seats and automated bidets. Or my subsequent visit to Hong Kong and the politeness of people ignoring the fact that garlic was coming out of my skin because I’d eaten so much of it in Korea! But I shan’t dwell on such regrets—they take me away from the here and the now. However, if you are the person that sat next to me on the flight that day, I apologise. I was present, but I was not aware.
I am not a builder, nor an artist. Nor am I a woodcarver or an artisan with the ability to create. Instead, this is my modest effort to create and one that I hope you enjoy.”
