About the Author
Alice McLoughlin was born in South Kilkenny in 1960. After her Leaving Certificate, she obtained a scholarship to the U.S.A., where she studied for six years and graduated with a B.A. Degree in Psychology and English in 1982 from Immaculata University, and a Master of Science Degree in Counselling and Human Relations in 1985 from Villanova University. Never aspiring to be an emigrant abroad, Alice returned to Ireland and worked full time in the field of addiction treatment for eleven years.
Then, in 1996, she set up her own private counselling practice and continues to work with a wide range of clients. Over the years, Alice has added various training courses to her repertoire of skills, including a Diploma in Advanced Hypnotherapy from the Institute of Clinical Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy in 1997 and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Counselling Supervision from Trinity College Psychology Department in 2004.
She is an accredited member and supervisor with The Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and The Irish Association of Alcohol and Addiction Counsellors. Alice is married to Patrick and lives and works in the seaside village of Curracloe, County Wexford, Ireland.
